"Co-Creation: Health Care Problem Solving in Low-Resource Settings"
Kristian Olson, MD, MPH, DTM&H, of the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative, and Program Leader of CIMIT's Global Health Initiative; and Brett Nelson, MD, MPH, Pediatrician at Massachusetts General Hospital, and Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School, discuss Co-Creation: Health Care Problem Solving in Low-Resource Settings. Four million children around the word die each year from treatable conditions in the first month of life. Many of those children are born in developing countries where resources are scarce. Collaborating to save lives, doctors, industrial designers, and rural health care experts designed an innovative incubator made out of car parts. Drs. Olson and Nelson will describe the process of working in interprofessional teams to create affordable and sustainable solutions to intractable problems and how those lessons apply to any health care setting.
